Shami is an AGES board director and AATP graduate fellow who has completed international fellowships in Oxford and Bordeaux in advanced laparoscopic surgery concentrating on endometriosis. She is an AGES and RANZCOG training and research supervisor and is senior clinical lecturer for the University of Melbourne. She is the recipient of numerous research grants and is completing research in areas of endometriosis, fibroids and persistent pelvic pain.
